Header Images

All the header images we use came from photos we've taken along the way somewhere (or someone has taken of us). Here's a list of header images so far:

James Island

We were parked at a mooring bouy in the east cove of James Island in the San Juans our first week out of Seattle hiking onshore and admiring our boat. It always looks so much better when its away from the dock.

Queens Reach

This was taken after we ran Malibu Rapids exiting Princess Louisa Inlet looking NW towards the head of Queens Reach and the British Columbia interior. We don't know who the sailboat in the picture is, they were waiting outside Malibu Rapids for slack water before entering.

Hot Springs boardwalk

The tradition at Hot Springs Cove on the west coast of Vancouver Island is to carve your boat name into one of the thousands of planks that make up the 2km long boardwalk out to the hot springs. We obliged.

Montague Harbor

We had one of the most amazing sunsets one evening on the north end of Montague Harbor in the Candian Gulf Islands. We had just returned from a harrowing and slightly inebriated thrill ride aboard the Hummingbird Pub Bus whisking boaters around the backroads of Galiano Island between the Hummingbird Pub and Montague Harbor.

Spinnaker

This shot of our spinnaker was taken just after the start line of the Baja Ha Ha outside of San Diego Bay on our way to Mexico. Funny enough, the spinnaker halyard chafed through about an hour after we took this picture and we ended up fishing the spinnaker out of the water before it wrapped around our rudder and keel.

Bahia Santa Maria

We took this picture of an amazing sunrise as we were making landfall on the second leg of the Baja Ha Ha coming into Bahia Santa Maria just outside of Magdelena Bay on the Baja coast. One of the most incredible landfalls we've made on this trip.

Our Boat Name

Colin took this from in the water while we sat at anchor in Cabo San Lucas. We were hucking off the bow pulpit using our spinnaker halyard as a swing.

La Paz Malecon

The Malecon (breakwater) in La Paz, Mexico is a beautiful walk along the water dotted with sidewalk cafes, food vendors, and interesting nautical statues. We took this picture as we walked back to our dinghy from a Thanksgiving celebration with a couple hundred other gringos at Marina Palmira.

Ensenada Grande

We anchored in the beautiful Ensenada Grande on Isla Partida about 20 miles north of La Paz, Mexico.
